CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF stars Terrence Howard, Phylicia Rashad and Anika Noni Rose were immortalized on the walls of Sardi's Restaurant on May 8th. They joined the hundreds of theatre icons – including their CAT co-star James Earl Jones – ensconced in places of honor gazing down upon the diners.
Sardi's owner, Max Klimavicius, revealed the drawings to the eagerly anticipating trio who were joined by fellow castmates, crew, friends and family.

It looks like Smallville's about to take another, potentially lethal, hit. Just a week after it was announced that Michael Rosenbaum would not be returning full time as Lex next season, sources confirm to me exclusively that Allison Mack, arguably Smallville's most popular heroine, may be the next to go. This marks quite a turnaround from a few months ago, when I deemed Mack a lock to come back next season. And I wasn't the only one. Although a deal wasn't signed at the time, Smallville insiders tell me that all indications were that the actress was on board for Season 8. But then Rosenbaum terndered his resignation and everything fell apart. "Allison's camp used Michael leaving as leverage in the negotiations with [Warner Bros.]," says one Smallville source, who adds that Kristin Kreuk's decision to only return for a handful of episodes as Lana only strengthened Mack's bargaining position. "They need Chloe now more than ever — and Allison's people know it." (Mack's reps declined to comment for this story.) But will the studio suits budge? In this climate, with ratings down by double digits and belt-tightening going on everywhere, no one is optimistic. However, everyone pretty much agrees about one thing: Smallville can't afford to lose Mack right now. "If Allison leaves, they've essentially got Lois and Clark left," notes one insider. "And that show's been done before." So, what do you think? Should Warner Bros. man up and give Mack what she's probably been worth all along? Or are you OK with Smallville turning into Lois & Clark: The Early Years? Source: TV GUIDE

Foo Fighters star tells heroes: 'Don't release music until it's kick-ass!'
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has written an open letter to Metallica, urging them not to release new material until it is "kick-ass". In the letter Grohl inquires as to whether the band have completed drum parts for their new material – jokingly hinting that he has his eye on a part in the band. The letter, posted on Blabbermouth, reads: "Hey, it's Dave! Remember me? Yeah, I'm the guy that's been listening to your band faithfully since 1983. I bought your first album 'Kill 'Em All' from a mail order catalogue called Under The Rainbow, I think. Actually I can't remember. It was 1983 for Christsakes! But that album changed my life and I've been listening to your albums ever since (even 'St Anger'!). "I can't wait to hear the new shit, and no matter what you guys do I'll always be first one at the shop waiting to hear it. I'm sure you'll come out and blow everybody's fuckin' minds, because you're fuckin' METALLICA! "Good luck. And don't release it until it's kick-ass. "Yours, Dave Grohl. "P.S. Are you finished recording the drums yet?" The record, the follow-up to 2003's 'St Anger', is due out in the autumn. source: http://www.nme.com/news/metallica/36492Current Mood: blah

Radiohead speak out against 'Greatest Hits' albumThom Yorke asks: 'What's the purpose?' Radiohead have attacked the release of their own 'Greatest Hits' album, which is being put out against their wishes by former label EMI. The band's contract with the label ended last year, and they decided to offer their current album 'In Rainbows' as a free download before releasing it with XL, the label who had also put out Thom Yorke's 2006 solo album 'The Eraser'. Speaking to The Word about the new collection's release, Yorke said: "We haven't really had any hits so what exactly is the purpose?" He added: "There's nothing we can do about it. The work is really public property now anyway, in my head at least. It's a wasted opportunity in that if we'd been behind it, and we wanted to do it, then it might have been good." Speaking about moving away from EMI he said: "Personally I just wanted to forget about it. It didn't feel right. And now it's like when you move house: you don't want to peer through the window and see what they've done with the wallpaper because it will only upset you." Yorke also blasted claims they had asked for "£10 million" to re-sign with the label, a quote which came from Guy Hands, the label's boss. "The idea what we were after so much money as to stretching the truth to breaking point," he declared. "That was his PR company briefing against us..I was so angry...it was a clear indication that the relationship was over." source: http://www.nme.com/news/radiohead/36497Who is seeing Radiohead in concert?
